Mockingjay Cover What Does It Mean?

Hello Everyone!
I hope you are just as excited as I am about Mockingjay! It WILL be an AMAZING,THRILLING, SHOCKING,GLORIOUS, AWESOME, definitely worth a 50th re-read book! (I don't know how glorious got in there but it worked. kinda.) We don't know what's INSIDE yet (only 182 days left!) but we do know what's OUTSIDE.
Let's take a look shall we?

Now, let's make a comparison:

Ooh! Ahh! Pretty covers!
Ok, seriously though... Is it just me or do these covers look similar? I know it's not just me so admit it. Compared to this:

and this:
what happened?! This?

I'm sorry but it's kind of a letdown. I definitely preferred the gray color. It went with the "theme" so much BETTER.Some seem to believe that the light blue color signifies victory on the rebels side. not! Gray's better.

Look at the mockingjays on Mockingjay and the old cover of Catching Fire. They look the same to me! So hopefully that is there first draft of the cover. Maybe they threw it out there to keep the fans happy. Something new to talk about? Who knows? (But that's my guess. :) )

I'm just sayin'. Take from this what you will but don't forget to comment! (I love it when you do!) :)
May the odds ever be in your favor!

I must agree that the cover is somewhat of a letdown. I thought they were going to continue with the colors of fire; maybe gray or orange or something like that. It would have been so awesome!

Oh, and btw, what's that cover that had the purple on it? I've never seen it before.

I've noticed that in the first book, the mockingjay is "frozen solid" in a pin.

In catching fire, the mockingjay is somewhat alive, with visible feathers.

In the 3rd book, the Mockingjay has "broken free" of the pin.....

It seems like that to my anyways, starting off with an object and ending in the freed bird. (Also, the background circles are disjointed and broken as well!)

My thoughts :)
